In trying to cook for a  clean eating diet vs. fast food, higher fat diet, you need to use herbs to boost flavor.  Typical processed foods utilize saturated fat, sugar and salt to enhance taste.  As a way to make fresh herbs last longer and therefore are available to you more often and making them last longer saves you money.!  Try Prepara's Herb Savor.

I received one as a gift and I thought maybe it was like ' a clapper' (all hype and no substance).  But, it really works.  it puts the stems of the herbs in water, while circulating air through the leaves.  I've kept fresh rosemary for 2 months.  Basil doesn't last that long.  It runs around $30 at prepara.com.
